A former member of the Berlin Philharmonic, celebrated violinist and composer Brett Dean sits down with friend and fellow composer James Ledger to discuss life as one of Australia's most eminent composers, giving a unique insight into his works and the compositional process.

Join Stuart Maunder (Director, Macbeth) as he talks about the language between music and literature.

The UWA Conservatorium of Music and the Western Australian Opera present a series of lecture recitals, talks and masterclasses with internationally recognised directors and artists from WAO's 2019 season, to delight audiences with a unique insight into the world of opera.

Chorales & Cantatas with the UWA Choral Society

Chorales & Cantatas is a gala performance celebrating the great choral and solo works, from the Baroque to Broadway, under the direction of Conductor Sarah Mills-Menogue. Set in the magnificent Winthrop Hall, UWACS will delight and entertain with excerpts from works by great composers including Vivaldi, Mozart, Verdi, Gershwin, Lloyd Webber, Grandage and Schonberg. Don’t miss this one special diverse Perth performance before the choir takes off on an invited tour to China!

Music Students Society Takeover

The UWA Music Students Society (MSS) takeover this concert for an evening of extraordinary new music by UWA composition students.

A jam-packed program of stimulating performances and events in 2019 showcases the immense talent of young emerging artists from the UWA Conservatorium and their mentors, UWA's celebrated alumni, and nationally and internationally recognised guest artists.
